Hear My Story
Hi everyone. my name is Arnie klein and I became an octogenarian last April. That’s 80 years old and I love being a senior citizen. That is the name of my website where I plan to write a blog about me, my friends and the senior center I joined.
My wife of 50 years together passed away 3 1⁄2 years ago. Hanging out at home after she passed was difficult and my daughter who I live with said I should go play bingo at the senior center in Cortlandt Manor where we live.

I decided to go and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. sometimes your daughters are right. I decided to join the membership which consists of men and women in the Cortlandt manor area. Joining the center is one of the best things I have ever done. I go there almost every day and have made a great group of friends. They have different things going on every day of the week. Monday is line dancing followed by a coffee hour and pickleball. being the only male at the coffee hour is quite exhilarating. nine women and me pretty good. Tuesday we have a general meeting where our president of the club lets us know what’s going for us seniors.

I decided to create this website because I wanted to reach the elderly with what they can accomplish at any age. I feel like I’m not old even though I’m 81. I’m just getting started with helping seniors with what’s going on and how to do things they think they can’t do. If you want to do something, try it no matter what. Nothing is impossible. Just take your time and give it a try. I’ve dropped 80 pounds in a year. You have to set your mind to it and eat the proper healthy foods. Do whatever exercise you can. Just do it slow and steady and vow not to gain it back. If you need a little more income, get a part-time job like driving for Uber, etc. There are plenty of jobs out there for seniors. Volunteer at the hospital or Nursing home. Just stay active.

I’ve been doing construction jobs for over 20 years. My contractors are fully licensed and insured. We do complete exterior work. Roofing, Stucco, Brick Pointing, Painting Concrete, Black Top, Power Washing, etc.

OPTAVIA
I started the Optavia Program around 2 years ago when I decided that I had to get healthy. I was close to 300 pounds + doing a lot of bad habits. I yo yo dieted my whole adult life and decided it was time to lose weight the correct way. This program taught me to eat fuelings and meals 6 times a day keeping my calorie input to 1500 calories. I had 2 regular meals of chicken, fish, and pork for protein with vegetables and then had shakes, and protein bars snacks in between. I was never hungry and stayed away from sugar and carbs. My meals were portion controlled and best of all, I had my own personal coach to talk to.
